Need To Lose Chest Fat?

Hi, I’m Bruce Barker- a Fitness Advisor with many overweight clients, and inevitably they must be shown how to burn chest fat. Obviously, both I and the individual need to know exactly what his medical issues are before I can start him on an exercise or nutrition regime.

Which particular issue does the client have…the condition known as gynecomastia or does he have the similar-looking condition known as? Obviously I will have a good idea myself but this must be confirmed by a doctor before I offer my help.

Did you know that the three words come from the Greek language?

  • ‘gyne’ means ‘woman”
  • ‘mastos’ means ‘breast’
  • ‘pseudo’ means ‘false’

Where the client shows a surplus of glandular tissue, with or without fatty tissue, the conclusion is that he has gynecomastia. If the guy simply has too much adipose or fatty tissue then he has false gynecomastia or pseudogynecomastia. He is also usually overweight in general.

After the physician’s verdict and prescribed treatment, the client will have to embrace dietary and lifestyle changes plus a properly designed exercise program. By now I assume that my client has banished all ideas of liposuction or invasive surgery, both of which are expensive. What is expensive? Bills up to 00, I believe, and it is certain that the client’s Insurance company will not meet the cost because they rule that such treatment is simply the client’s choice and is, after all, cosmetic.

The next question is, what type of exercise regime do Iprescribe, as his Fitness Instructor, in order for him to achieve his goal to burn chest fat. Well, my client’s program must include a mix of cardio-vascular and resistance exercises. Resistance exercises are essential because they build up muscle to replace the fat lost and give a more toned and shaped chest. In addition to this, more calories will be burned because muscle is not inert tissue, like fat, but composed of live fibers which will eat up more calories.

If the client is to achieve results then he must commit to a minimum of three visits to the gym in a week and my client’s program will have to include at least 1/2 an hour of hard CV work, typically on 3 separate pieces of equipment, and the man will be required to raise his pulse rate to between 70 to 85 % of his maximum.

What procedure is used to arrive at a client’s maximum heart rate? Well, we start with 220 beats per minute, which is taken to be the average MHR for a baby, and for the first few years of the infant’s life. Subsequently the MHR will go down by one beat or so yearly. It follows, doesn’t it, that if you deduct the individual’s age from 220 you will arrive at his MHR. It follows that if the individual is a man of 50 then his MHR will be 220 minus 50 which is 170 and the client will have to be working out, while doing his Cv, with his heart rate between 119 and 145 beats per minute which is 70 to 85% of his MHR . After some weeks of regular exercise he may well be able to increase his heart rate to 90% of it’s maximum or 153 beats per minute.

After that I would prescribe him some resistance workouts to include all major muscle groups and not just the chest . This is because the client’s overall strength and posture must be improved for what is to follow. Then, 4 to 6 weeks after this we will have a re-appraisal and, if he has made progress, his next program will be ratcheted up to an alternating ‘two day split’ something like this:

  • CV/Upper Body/Abdominals
  • CV/Lower Body/Abdominals

Later re-assessments will bring in specific exercises to re-sculpt the chest. A few months of focussed work could well result in a workout schedule something like this:

  • CV/Chest/Abdominals
  • CV/Back/Abdominals
  • CV/Shoulders+Arms/Abdominals
  • CV/Legs/Abdominals

Nothing is set in stone and everybody is different when it comes to the problem of how to lose chest fat, therefore programs must be flexible.

The majority of this article is based around gym sessions but I do know from long experience that lots of you guys out there don’t like gyms, cannot afford gyms or are simply unable to get to a gym. What is not an option is doing nothing…everyone must undertake some form of regular and focussed exercise. Individuals will still need inspiration from a mentor of some kind.

I have researched many other systems etc. over the last 24 months which claim to help a guy lose his fat breasts and develop a more masculine chest. I have satisfied myself that some of these methods can indeed help and I have thereforerecommended them because they are safe, natural approaches with lots of happy customers ready to endorse them.

There are also many articles on the site which will give you a greater understanding of the two problems.
