Cleaning A Swimming Pool

My parents were expert swimmers and even took part in the local championships in the quaint village we lived in. Since I was a kid my family encouraged the habit of swimming in us and we used to swim regularly in swimming pools near our area. Incidentally I forgot to mention that we lived near the remains of an Olympic Village since my father was an Olympic swimming coach! He is a IOC local member in regards to the maintenance hand for the swimming pools with the thought that may be one day Olympic Games will come back to our Village again. Wishful thinking can sometimes be rewarded with a divine event.

To maintain a swimming pool one needs to know about cleaning and disinfecting, water quality, about pool construction, swimming pool chemicalsand general hygiene. The facility must be well kept and cleanliness absolutely imperative to ensure that no one contracts any water borne illness etc. Regular schedules are given to the staves so that there is no lapse in the cleaning of the pools. Even If the pools are closed for use the cleaning is still carried out in a regular basis and the swimming pool is kept dry and covered till the next use of the pool. Brominating or Chlorination is regularly affected and the water pH is maintained at a neutral state of 7.2 to 7.6.

Other steps include cleaning the skimmer baskets, providing and controlling algaecide and clarifiers, shock method of liberating free chlorine in the pool and some other minor treatments. The physical cleaning of the swimming pools takes place by employing skilled pool cleaners who ensure that the cleaning is done by brushing and vacuuming followed by drying and if possible protecting the pool with a special safety swimming pool covers. There is no doubt that expert swimmers who know all about swimming pools are thought to be the best people to maintain such Olympic grade pools.
