<p>One source of man boobs may be something called “Gynecomastia’,which is basically the overdevelopment of the male breast. The glandular tissue of the breast swells, usually in response to an surplus of the female hormone estrogen or a deficiency of testosterone, a male hormone. It is a sound idea to consult with your physician, if you feel that  your man boobs may be caused by gynecomastia, instead of just being overweight.</p>
<p>Gynecomastia usually occurs during adolescence, but being overweight is one of the most common reasons why men would grow breasts. Even though males usually store this extra fat around the middle, it can instead be collected in the chest area. How many people lose their lives each year from a condition that is 100% preventable, such as alcohol poisoning? How many people are the victims of alcohol related crime or violence each and every year? How many individuals get injured or lose their lives in alcohol related traffic accidents every year? How many people’s lives are cut short due to abusive and unhealthy drinking? How many children are born each year with fetal alcohol syndrome? On an annual basis, how many alcoholics fail to get the professional alcohol treatment they require? How many individuals face severe consequences in their lives because they received a “drunk driving” conviction? How many junior high, high school, and college students lose their lives every year due to an alcohol overdose?</p>
<p><strong>Why Would Anyone Want to Drink in an Abusive and Irresponsible Manner?</strong></p>
<p>So what’s the point in asking these questions? Basically to highlight the destructive and devastating nature of abusive and careless drinking.  Indeed, and based on the above questions, I wonder why anyone would choose to drink in an excessive and hazardous manner.</p>
<p>Stated another way, with the host of legal proceedings, financial issues, employment difficulties, relationship dilemmas, and health problems that are correlated with alcohol addiction and chronic alcohol abuse, why would any individual with any sense at all want to drink in an irresponsible manner? If truth be told when some of the above topics are put under the microscope more closely, unhealthy and excessive drinking becomes more illogical and makes even less sense.</p>
<p>Wouldn&#8217;t you think that alcoholics would be able to see some of the <a href="http://www.alcoholics-info.com/How_To_Treat_Alcohol_Withdrawals_At_Home.html">alcohol symptoms</a> that they manifest?  In a similar way doesn&#8217;t it seem reasonable to think that many more families would involve themselves in an <a href="http://www.alcoholics-info.com">alcohol intervention</a> for the person in the household who is an alcohol abuser or an alcoholic?  Not only this but wouldn&#8217;t you think that individuals who drink heavily would try to learn more about their drinking behavior by researching various <a href="http://www.about-alcohol-abuse.com/Teen_Alcohol_Abuse_Statistics.html">alcohol related statistics</a>?</p>
<p>After reviewing the alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse research literature, the point is so important that it needs to be restated:  With all of the destructive and disastrous consequences that are directly or indirectly associated with repetitive and continuous alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse, why would any person want to engage in excessive and abusive drinking?</p>
<p><strong>What Can be Done About the Extensive Nature of Alcohol Abuse and Alcohol Dependency in the U.S.?</strong></p>
<p>So what can be done about the pervasive nature of alcohol abuse and alcoholism in the United States?</p>
<ol>
<li>Our students need more meaningful and more relevant preventative and educational methods and approaches so that more students at all grade levels, including those at college, are “reached.</li>
<li>In a similar manner, our students need to learn how to become problem solvers in life rather than gravitating to the ”quick fix” and the “instant gratification” of a drug or alcohol abuse “buzz” or “high”.</li>
